Question Q145) 10 g of hydrogen and 64 g of oxygen were filled in a steel vessel and exploded. Amount of water produced inthis reaction will be [AIPMT (Prelims)-2009]

SOLUTION

Reaction
2H2 (g) + O2 (g) → 2H2 O(l)
Two moles of H2 and one mole of O2 produce two moles of water
10g of hydrogen=5 moles
64g of oxygen = 2 moles
∴oxygen is limiting reagent
, Now 2 moles will produce 4 moles of water
Answer (b)
