QUESTION
Q99) An aqueous solution of 6.3g of oxalic acid dehydrate is made up to 250ml. The volume of 0.1 N NaOH required to completely neutralise 10ml of this solution is ... [ IIT 2001]

SOLUTION

(COOH)2 . 2H2 molecular wt=126
Basicity=2 , equivalent wt=63 ;thus 63 g in 1 lite=1 N
∴ 6.3g in 0.25 litre=0.4 N
Now N1V1=N2V2
10 × 0.4=V × 0.1
or V=40 ml
Answer: (a)
